Grant information session for Female Founder stream of the Starter Company Plus program
The Toronto Small Business Enterprise Centre is offering a free information session for the Starter Company Plus grant and training program’s Female Founders stream. This virtual information session will provide additional information for potential applicants including program eligibility and application deadlines. November 3, 10 a.m.
Funding available for BIAs and non-profit organizations to address main street challenges
The Main Street Innovation Fund will launch a new stream of applications on November 1st, supporting local Business Improvement Areas (BIAs) and non-profit organizations with strong community involvement. This grant program is to assist local leaders in implementing effective, innovative place-making and creative community projects to animate main streets to support business recovery and success. Funded by the Federal Economic Development Agency for South Ontario, this program is part of the Toronto Main Street Recovery and Rebuild Initiative. Eligible organizations should apply before the deadline of December 14 to be considered.
Women4ClimateTO Mentorship Program
Is your Toronto start-up helping to address the climate emergency? The City of Toronto is now accepting applications for its Women4ClimateTO Mentorship Program. Women4ClimateTO empowers and supports emerging women climate leaders working on innovative projects that will help to mitigate the impacts of climate change and/or improve Toronto’s resilience. Participants will receive mentoring, training and networking opportunities to help advance their climate-focused project or start-up business. Following the mentorship program, the City of Toronto and its partners, will host a pitch competition where participants will have a chance compete for cash awards and other supports to help further advance their initiative. Applications will be accepted until November 20.

Tell Restaurants Canada about the business challenges as a foodservice operator
Restaurants Canada needs your help to identify and quantify the numerous challenges that are impacting the foodservice sector. This information is critical to their advocacy with the federal and provincial governments. The input and feedback you provide will be used to help drive the importance of Canada’s foodservice industry, and what the industry requires for support with all levels of government across the country. This survey should take less than 5 minutes to complete. The information you provide in this survey will be kept strictly private and confidential. Accelerator program now starting sessions for women entrepreneurs
The Launchpad for Women Entrepreneurs is a dynamic new accelerator program designed exclusively for women entrepreneurs of diverse backgrounds and industries. With options to join both in-person and virtual sessions, this program by the YMCA of Greater Toronto and DMZ provides women entrepreneurs with invaluable resources and a vibrant community to launch and grow successful ventures. Sessions for the first cohort have begun.
Applications for Artist Entrepreneur program at the Canada Music Incubator
Canada Music Incubator (CMI) is accepting applications for the March/April session of their Artist Entrepreneur (AE) professional development program. The AE program runs for six weeks in downtown Toronto. Artists from all musical genres are welcome. For artist entrepreneurs struggling with running their business, planning new release campaigns, booking shows, improving their live performance, grasping royalty administration, creating effective marketing assets or anything else, CMI can help. The AE program is an opportunity to join the CMI-supported artist community, access customized business and creative mentorship, meet industry professionals, and have ongoing access to CMI mentors. Early applications are strongly encouraged. Application window closes January 7, 2024.
